The history of the Transylvanian Saxons dates back to the 12th century as an extension of the Holy Roman Empire into Transilvania, meaning “ The land beyond the forest”.

The Gaber family represented Bogeschdorf (Bagaciu) as the mayor’s family for decades and honored the Transylvanian Saxon legacy for generations. But unfortunately due to the consequences of the Second World War they had to leave their land in 1974 and rebuild their life in Germany, accordingly the “Transylvanian” chapter was quickly closed and lived only in memory.

After a trip back to their homeland in 2006 the family took the decision to reclaim and buy the old Gaber homestead. From that moment on the brand ‘Terra Regis’ which includes ancient vineyards and farmland, was founded. Since then the Gaber family has been dedicated to maintaining and honoring the Transylvanian Saxon culture and its traditions in Bagaciu.

Today, the Gaber family continues its commitment to preserving and enriching the cultural heritage of the region, seeking to position Bogeschdorf (Bagaciu) on the map of agritourism and wine tourism. To achieve this, they are rebuilding a traditional Transylvanian Saxon house with the aim of revitalizing tourism in the area.
